Our 2026 CRUISE / RENDEZVOUS will be held Friday, September 11 - Sunday, September 13, (Monday, September 14)
We hope this finds you well. As we have now commenced SHYC's 128th season, we are excited to announce that the destination for the Club's 22nd annual Cruise / Rendezvous is Newport, R.I.
The dates of our Cruise are Friday, September 11th - Sunday, September 13th with our “Cruisers” welcome to stay over to Monday, September 14th, to enjoy an extra day of informal Club camaraderie.
Our fleet will dock at Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina (NHHM).
We have negotiated a special dockage rate for those traveling by boat, of $10.00 per foot, per night. To make your dock reservations at this special rate, contact Dockmaster John Silva at either 401-848-3310 or 508-838-6917 or by email at jsilva@newporthotel.com, as soon as possible. Dockmaster John will confirm your dock reservation via Dockwa.
For those traveling by land yacht and wishing to stay on premise at the NHHM, we have negotiated a special group rate. Sag Harbor Yacht Club - Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina
Of course, you can stay at another local hotel, inn or B&B and participate fully in the weekend's events.
"Cruisers" should make their boat and hotel reservations as soon as possible, as they are in high demand.
Our weekend will commence on Thursday evening, September 10th at 18:30 hours with a Captain's Meeting to be held on the SHYC BBQ Patio. Our cruisers will then set sail for Newport on Friday, the 11th.
Cruise events in Newport will commence on Friday evening, at 18:30 hours with the Cruise "Welcome" Cocktail Party. Unfortunately, our tradition of holding this party aboard Howard Meyer's MY Ingot, will sadly take a hiatus this year, as Howard is unable to attend. Therefore, this event will be held on the lawn of NHHM overlooking the marina and harbor and will be a lot of fun.
On Saturday evening, the 12th, the Cruise Shoreside Dinner Party will be held at 22 Bowen's. This event will also commence at 18:30 hours. We anticipate quite a wonderful evening at one of Newport's finest dining establishments.
The cost per participant for the weekend's events is $275. This will be billed to your SHYC account. The club will once again contribute significantly to help subsidize this event.

P.O. Box 1988, Sag Harbor, NY 11963, as soon as possible to reserve your space for the Cruise weekend. Please note that email submissions will not be accepted or processed, as we need a paper trail.
As we have a cap of 75 members and guests for this event and since we must provide the caterers with a guaranteed number of participants expected to attend, as well as a substantial, non-refundable advance payment, it's important that those planning on attending let us know their plans in writing as soon as possible. Due to this, cancellations will not be accepted beyond August 31st and should you cancel after that date your SHYC account will be billed the full amount due for your reservation.
Lastly, when returning your Entry Application to us, you may make a notation if you are are in need of crew or are looking to crew.
