Cruise/Rendezvous

Our CRUISE / RENDEZVOUS will be held Friday, September 5 - Sunday, September 7, (Monday, September 8)

In anticipation of the 2025 boating season and looking forward to SHYC’s twenty-first (21st) annual Cruise / Rendezvous, we are pleased to announce that thedestination for this year's Cruise / Rendezvous is Mystic Seaport.  

The Cruise dates are Friday, September 5th - Sunday, September 7th with our “Cruisers” welcome to stay over to Monday, September 8th, to enjoy a day of informal Club camaraderie.

Our fleet will dock at Mystic Seaport's marina and for those wishing to stay in a hotel, Mystic is now offering us on-premise accommodations at the brand new, Delamar Mystic Hotel

Our weekend will commence on Thursday evening, September 4th at 18:30 hours with a Captain's Meeting to be held on the club's BBQ Patio. Our cruisers will then set sail for Mystic on Friday, the 5th.

The Cruise events at Mystic will commence on Friday evening, at 18:30 hours with our traditional Cruise "Welcome" Cocktail Party aboard Howard Meyer'sMY Ingot, which will be docked at Mystic Seaport. There is no doubt that this will be an awesome evening.  

On Saturday evening, September 6th, the Cruise Shoreside Dinner Party will be held at Mystic Seaport. This event will also commence at 18:30 hours. We anticipate quite a wonderful evening overlooking the Mystic River. 

The cost per participant for the weekend's events is $275. This will be billed to your SHYC account. The club will once again contribute significantly to help subsidize this event.

Those coming by boat should make arrangements for dockage as soon as possible at the Mystic Seaport Museum Marina via Dockwa.com. The normal rate for dockage is $5.50 per foot (LOA) on weekdays (Sun. – Thurs.) and $6.00 per foot (LOA) on weekends (Fri. & Sat.). However, if you are a Member of the MysticSeaport or join at either the Mariner or Navigator level of Membership, you will receive a discounted rate of $4.40 per foot (LOA) for weekdays and $4.80 per foot (LOA) on weekends. If you already are or become a Member of the Seaport, make sure to notate MEMBER where indicated so you receive the discounted rate. Also make sure to mention Sag Harbor Yacht Club Cruise, so that we are all docked in the same location. 

Should you join Mystic Seaport after you arrive, inform Dockmaster Greg Zabel and he will assist in adjusting your dockage rate accordingly. Additionally, once you are a member of Mystic Seaport arriving by boat and stay for 5 days, the 5th day is complimentary. Regardless, dockage at the Seaport includes admission to the Museum for all guests arriving aboard.

For our "Cruisers" not staying aboard, we have negotiated a special group room rate at the Delamar Mystic Hotel. Of course, you can stay at another local hotel, inn or B&B and participate fully in the weekend's events. 

To reserve a room at the Delamar Mysticplease call their main office during regular business hours at (860) 980-1919, and their team will be happy to assist you. Make sure to mention that you're with the SHYC Cruise group and the dates of your stay, along with the special code for our event, SAGHARBOR25 to receive the special rate $489. per night for a Superior King Room. We would like to remind our Cruisers that, although many participants will sail / power to Mystic on their own or crew aboard a fellow member's boat, members and their invited guests may also choose to travel by car via the Cross Sound Ferry to New London.

Sag Harbor Yacht Club, Cruise Committee, PO Box 1988, Sag Harbor, NY 11963 as soon as possible to reserve your space for the Cruise weekend.  Please note that email submissions will not be accepted or processed, as we need a paper trail. 

As we have a cap of 75 members and guests for this event and since we must provide the caterers with a guaranteed number of participants expected to attend, as well as a substantial, non-refundable advance payment, it's important that those planning on attending let us know their plans in writing as soon as possible. Due to this, cancellations will not be accepted beyond August 24th and should you cancel after that date your SHYC account will be billed the full amount due for your reservation.

A quick note that should you be planning on shoreside accommodations; it would be wise to make them as soon as possible as our Cruise is in direct competition for space in Mystic and its surrounds with weddings and other events at this time of year. 

Lastly, when returning your Entry Application to us, you may make a notation if you are are in need of crew or are looking to crew.
